THE ROBOTS
Like it or not, robots are coming. And while the first wave of robots will only be capable of doing simple task, scientists and engineers are making strides in advancing robotic technology.

By using powerful telescopes to look deep into the universe, scientist have discovered evidence of previous stars that ran out of fuel. Studying our own solar system, scientist have gathered data showing that our neighboring planets once had earth-like climates before becoming the barren and hostile environments that they are today. And on our own planet archaeologist have uncovered fossils of former life species that eventually went extinct.

With all the data we have collected, along with present conditions of our environment, we can assess that the human species may be at risk of a similar fate. There a list of potential things that threaten our existence, like viruses, asteroids, solar flares, climate change, etc... Oddly enough the biggest threat to the human species is the human species itself. The major problems we’re currently facing are the direct results from damage we cause to our environment on a daily basis, from wars and violent conflicts, from practicing unhealthy habits, and the overconsumption and wasting of precious resources.

There’s also the fact our sun will one day die, destroying the earth along with it and plunge our solar system into darkness. Luckily we have at least 100 billion years before that happens. While the odds seem stacked against us, we humans have one thing in our favor, and that's our relentless will to survive. This has allowed us to overcome earth's most extreme conditions and past catastrophes. One could say that the human species has survival built into it’s DNA. The question is can we advance our civilization to eliminate these threats and extend our existents. If the speed of our advancement continues to increase, who knows what knowledge and power we will harness 100 years, 200 years, or 300 years from now. It's possible we may become the only life form to hack the universe to achieve an eternal existence.

In our quest, it's important that we are careful on what we develop and how we use it, so we don't end up destroying ourselves in the process.

In order for us to survive our present challenges we will need to focus on the preservation of our resources, increasing our knowledge, advancing technology and expanding our presence in the universe.
